The art of the day is: Hurry up and wait.

I just need to be here long enough to see two or three people, and then I can move on to the next leg of this trip. I'm not anxious to leave. Waiting gives me the opportunity to write, and to think about what I have not been writing, right? I am sort of tethered to this spot, because I'm working alone, and I've already succeeded in doing the one thing I had to do while I was here, so if I wasn't waiting, I could leave. The weather is still nice enough to be bothered by the fact that there isn't even a window to the outside where I'm set up. I'm not kvetching, more just observing that this sort of thing is important to me. Surprise myself by the need for natural light.
