Mixed feelings? You bet.
The Art of the Day is: War? Working well in Groups? Growing up?
He's just a kid. He's always been off on his own. He's a piece of clay, he will be molded by this experience.
He's in a dangerous place, or maybe in the best place he can be.
I'll give it some thought, and write some more.
